Formed in 2011, the Syracuse Public Artist in Residence (SPAR) aims to engage diverse members of the Syracuse community to assist in the design, development and installation of permanent, high-profile public art pieces along the Connective Corridor. The first Public Artist in Residence, Brendan Rose, has already added to the charm of downtown Syracuse with the hand sculpture near the City Hall Commons and the delightful serpent on the Onondaga Creekwalk.
We designed and developed (on a pro bono basis) a simple yet effective WordPress website to showcase SPAR’s efforts, to highlight the need for and value of public art and artists in Syracuse, and to help engage the community.
