Pick a striking example of architecture at Syracuse University or in downtown Syracuse, and chances are that it was designed by King + King, one of New York State’s oldest architecture firms. A firm with a long commitment to environmental sustainability, in 2009 King + King took a leadership stance in advancing sustainability by refurbishing an abandoned warehouse on Syracuse’s Near Westside into a new headquarters; the building is the first in Central New York to achieve LEED Platinum Certification status.
Working with King + King’s advertising agency, we developed a distinctive horizontally-scrolling website, offering a sideways view of the firm’s portfolio, staff, and history. We used jQuery to allow right/left scrolling on longer pages; jQuery Mobile enables swiping of pages when viewed on mobile devices, with a wholly-different responsive page layout for the site when viewed on a phone.
